Project Overview
Original 12-page comic called "Crockroach Cousins". For this comic, I drew inspiration from my hometown, Guangzhou, located in southern China. It’s well known in China that cockroaches in the south tend to be much larger and can even fly compared to those in the north. I thought it would be funny to turn this idea into a story about two cousin cockroaches: the smaller one from the north as the older cousin, and the larger one from the south as the younger cousin.
3D Printing and Assembly
For the 3D versions of these characters, I wanted to make them more than just decorative figures, so I designed them with magnets embedded inside. I created magnet slots in the models, allowing them to function as fridge magnets that can hold notes. The magnets also let the two characters attach to each other, almost like they’re hugging.
